Object Oriented and Modelling Concepts Car Parking

Object Oriented and Modelling Concepts Car Parking Akila Kanishka Gangodage   At the present time parking is the major requirement of the people. And also there are limited spaces to park vehicles in the city area. Therefore car park systems should have proper management system to control the day to day activities. Peoples time is very valuable their time cant be wasted. People cant spend lot of time in the car park to park their vehicles. Traditional car parking systems are mainly best on human. That kind of systems use human to control activities of the car park, as example collect the money, generate the tickets, check the remaining space etc. But to do all these activities are taken lot of time and it is not efficient process and also this type of systems are no longer applicable for the modern society. Modern systems are using computers and software systems to manage and control the activities of the car park which can be interact by people time to time According to fact which are discuss above, a car park need a proper system that can manage and control all the day to day activities of car park efficiently Generate tickets. System should have generate two type of tickets. For ordinary customer and season customer. Season tickets should be issued to defined individual or company, a ticket need to be included contact number address and each season ticket should be valid for the given time period and issue date and expiry date should be display on the ticket. Ordinary tickets should be issued time period at the car park. Accept tickets. For the ordinary customers, if car park is full, no tickets should be issued. Each and every ordinary customers ticket should have bar code on it. When ordinary customer is leaving the dates or time should be the same, if not the ticket is ejected. For the season ticket holder, a check is made that the season ticket is valid for this car park and has not expired. Season ticket holder should not be recorded as having already entered this car park and not left. When the car park is full, tickets should not be issued from the control pillar. Handle payment. Payment can only be card (Master/Visa/Debt) or cash (50c, 1$, 2$, 5$, 10$, 20$, 50$). For ordinary customer, according the duration of the stay in the car park charge should be calculated and displayed. System should identify the notes and coins which are inserted by customer and the value added to an accumulated amount. When that amount exceed the charge, the ticket should be validated. And also change should be given accordingly. Invalid notes and coins can be identified and returned back to the customer. Control boom gates. The barrier should be raised, after the customer pull the ticket from the control pillar. Car should be detected by the sensor on the other side of the barrier when it has passed then barrier should be lowered. When the customer reach the exit barrier should be detected by a sensor and then the control pillar should allow the customer to check the ticket and after complete the payment the barrier should be raised. If this process consume more than fifteen minutes, the attendant can view the details of the ticket on his computer and should be able to control the barrier Record problem in a log book. If there any fault of equipment or any other aspect of the operational system the maintenance company must be notified straight away. The system should be able to generate static report of all faults. Manage security. The security guard should be able to put his or her card into card reader and arrival date and time should be recorded. Leave time also should be recorded as the same. The system should be able to handle one or more security companies. Hardware resources. Computer Boom gates Ticket scanner Printer Security camera Sensor Software resources. Windows Operating System. Need a user friendly and lightweight operating system for the computers for manage all other software. Browser. Since the developed system is interacted with web the computers require browser in order to use it. Database. System require a central database to store and process all the data. Barcode reader software. By using this software the system can identify each and every barcodes which are on the ticket. Payments handling software. Using this software system can detect and identify the notes and coins get the accumulated amount. Financial resources. The City Administration is fund for the project. Human resource. Most of the activities of the car park is done by the system itself but to be the complete system the car park system need human interaction. So system need to at least 10 peoples to proceed, Five peoples for the IT department. Three developers, one Tech Lead and one Project Manager Three peoples from the client company. Tow from the security company and one from the maintenance company One investor User There are some possible risks that can be happened while this car park system is using. Natural disaster. The significant increase in disasters of a natural and/or technological origin seen today has serious consequences for CI, the population, the environment, and the economy. These consequences have been exacerbated by the development of sociotechnical systems such as transport networks and industrial plants, their interdependencies, and their sensitivity to major hazardous events. (Farid kadri, Babiga birregah Eric chatelet, 2014). Natural disaster like Earth quick, flood, fire, and tornado can be done major impact for the hardware, software and human resources of the system. As an example when Earth quick happened it can be effected for the hardware devices like CTTV camera, boom gates control pillar, computer etc. and also it can be harm people and vehicles in the car park. Hardware failure. Hardware failures are permanent failures that occur over a period of time (Asim kadav, Matthew j renzelmann Michael m swift, 2009). Hardware devices can fail, but many systems assume they do not. When confronted with real devices that misbehave, these assumptions can lead to driver or system failures (Roozbeh bakhshi, Surya kunche Michael pecht, 2013). For an example if a boom gate will not work, cars cant enter the car park. Software failure. Sometime software need to be updated for work with the new technologies Database crash. Valuable data can be lost because of database crash Electricity failure. This kind of systems are mainly depend on electricity. So electricity failure is major risk that this system have to face. Lack of trained employee. Sometime it can be hard to fine trained employee to work with the car parking system. Propose outcome of this project is, that provide the efficient and effective car parking system for the people and avoiding unnecessary time wasting at the car park. And also this car parking system is very simple to control and manage and regulate for the city administration and can get higher business value in the city area. By introducing this new car parking system with new technology can gain lots of benefits for the company. Since parking is becoming a major requirement of people who come to the city for office, busyness, studies, work, shopping and hospital etc. this kind of efficient parking system can get high demand rather than other car parking system. Maintaining the parking system is becoming easier. Because of any fault of equipment can be notified by the system for the Maintenance Company. Another main benefit of car parking system is can operate with low manpower because of most of the activities of car park can be managed by the system itself therefor company can save lot of money Safety and security of drivers and cars are very high because system has security management system itself. Therefor company can earn customers trust and can have regular customer base. Another benefit of this system is system can keep the record easily in database and use them any way company want. Company use record for security purpose, financial purpose and maintain the statistic. Using this kind of car parking system the City Administration can have maximum utilization of space in city area. References Asim kadav, Matthew j renzelmann Michael m swift.(2009). According to Cormack

As reflected in his painting `Hay Wain`, Constable had naturalist concerns   as compared to the more romanticist elements of Turners work, as exemplified in his painting The Slave Ship. Constable made all the efforts towards rebellion against the cultures of the artists in the application of imagination for the purpose of representation of their art in favor of nature. He stresses the need to forget having seen any picture in the process of making a sketch. His studies are based on the spot of action in contrast to following any formula. According to Cormack, â€Å"The world is wide†, no two days are similar, nor even two hours; neither were there ever two leaves of a tree alike since the creation of all the world; and the genuine productions of art, like those of nature, are all distinct from each other.† (Cormack, 2006).  In comparison to the work of Turner, he had a less extensive range as well as aspirations. The most suitable definition of Constable is a ‘n aturalist’ which through his correspondence, he has successfully as so. However, the stylistic variety of Constable is marred with instability with regard to the perception of the constituent of nature. Further the sites intimately known to him have been the focus of his paintings. There is no strict uniqueness of the indisputable approach of Constable in as far as the concern of the local scenery is concerned. This is evidenced by the participation of the contemporary artist of the Norwich as well as the conformation to the work of Thomas Christopher, who is an artist of 1777-1843 (Fleming-Williams, 2006). The common practice is the application of oil to sketch from nature.Turner has made his contribution to in the establishment of a landscape to represent a historical painting although he widely disputes the idea. The single mindedness of Constable is responsible for the portrayal of site of limited range in a unique way producing unprecedented oil sketching of a brilliance capacity (Fraser, 2006).On the other hand, Turner has a subjective reflection that surpasses far beyond the romantic contemporaries that he possesses with the capacity to foreshadow an image in dissolution in a painting of the 20th century. According to Bailey, the best description of the work of Turner is â€Å"airy vision painted with tinted steam† (Bailey, 2007).As has been visualized in the Slave Ship in an instance that a description is offered of the sharks following the slave ship in reaction to a storm. The sharks react to the scent crowds that steam due to rank diseases as well as death. There is also an existence of a realistic event involving a slave ship captain dumping human cargo in the sea as result of a disease outbreak below decks. The work of Turner has a clear demonstration of romanticism elements through the employment of disjoint diagonals. The consequence is composition fragmentation (Kelder, 2000).Turner, the terrific creator had the potential for the ap plication of unique invention for the purpose of liberating color from line definition for the purpose of the expression of the natural forces for the purpose of its unity to the stirring response of the artists. This leads to uniting emotions reality to the color reality. Used as an abstract media, the work of Turner was associated with unpredictable effects. This is seen in the nature of ultimate painting element evident in his innovations due to the emotive as well as aesthetic strength of his application of pure color (Leslie, 2005).

Why Abortion Is Immoral

In â€Å"Why abortion is immoral,† by Don Marquis, Marquis sets out an argument that abortion is â€Å"seriously immoral that it is in the same moral category as killing an innocent adult human being. † Marquis first wants us to understand why killing a person is wrong. He presents us with an argument that the loss of one’s life is one of the greatest losses one can suffer. Because this prevents a person from having a valuable human future, a future like ours. What makes killing any adult human being wrong? If a person is killed all the experience, activities, projects, and enjoyment would be deprive from a person future. Therefore, Marquis believe that killing is one of the worst of crimes because their future is taken away along with their life. Many people who agree with abortion would disagree with Marquis that abortion is the same as killing a person, as much as killing the fetus that would later become a person. For Marquis, it all comes down to our future. Why is killing the fetus wrong? If the fetus survive to full growth, â€Å"the future of the fetus would includes a set of experiences, projects, activities, and such which one identical with the future of adult human being. Many people use the word fetus to mean, an unborn person after three months of conception. Marquis use the word to mean that in the first fourteen days of pregnancy, a fetus is â€Å" not enough like us† to count. Around the fourteen day it is still a possibility that the fetus can divide into twins. Another argument that Marquis states is that abortion is prima facie immoral. What he meant is that the abortion issues does not concern just the interest of the fetus. It concerns a person moral right to his or her body. That a woman moral right to choose whether or not to continue a pregnancy. Only the mother should go under the procedure of abortion. Since it is the mother that have to make a choice and with the decision she makes. Another argument about morality and abortion would be by Judith Jarvis Thomson. In her argument, Judith Jarvis Thomson assumes that the fetus(and embryo and zygote) is â€Å"an innocent human being, a person, from the moment of conception. † She believes that every person has a right to life. A fetus is a person. Therefore a fetus has a right to life, and that the fetus may not be killed. She believes that a mother has the right to her body. But if the mother becomes pregnant and decides that the she doesn’t want the baby then the fetus can outweighs the mother decision to what happens in her body. Thomson state that, â€Å"the fetus should not be killed and that an abortion should not be performed. † But Thomson tries to show that it is not right, that the right to life just means you have the right to not be unjustly killed. This is where she introduce her famous violinist story. Thomson ask us to imagine â€Å"that you were kidnapped by the society of music lovers and that you woke up to find that the violinist’s circulatory system was plugged into yours and you were sharing your kidneys. The director of the hospital then tell you that if you unplugged the cord the violinist will die, and you will be plugged for only nine month and by then you will recover. You also come to find out that by saving the violinist, its killing you because its making your kidney weak. The doctor then tells you that it’s not nine months but nine years. What would you do? Because Thomson believes that all persons have the right to live and violinist are person. We assume that they have a right to life. Thomson then state â€Å" that you have the right to decide what will happen to and in your body, but a person right to live outweighs your right to decide what happens to and in your body. † If a women is pregnant due to rape a women is not permitted to have an abortion. Because the unborn child that a women is carrying does not cause any harm relating to the rape. The unborn child has the right to live, the unborn child is innocent. Thomson states that â€Å" a women’s right to use her body does not entail her right to end someone else’s life in order do what she wants with her body. † In conclusion, both Thomson and Marquis believes that a person has a right to live. But both comes out with arguments that are different supporting their arguments. Marquis believes that a person should not be killed because when one is dead they’re deprived of the future goods, and experience that they will encountered. If their killed they would not have a future like ours. Marquis believe that killing a fetus only is wrong because it won’t have a future like ours. Marquis also states that a women have the right to decide if she wants the abortion or not. Thomson believes that it’s wrong to have an abortion, when the unborn child is innocent. The unborn child outweighs the mother decision to what happens to her body. Thomson argues that every person has the right to live and a fetus may not be killed.

Changes In Medicine Due To Civil War - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 5 Words: 1450 Downloads: 9 Date added: 2019/05/15 Category History Essay Level High school Tags: Civil War Essay War Essay Did you like this example? As time goes on, many changes occur in different fields of science, technology, human service, media, and business. When looking back at the Civil War era, medicines used, and treatment of patients at that time, it is easy to see that the field of medicine has evolved greatly. From the remedies and medicines used to treat soldiers to the overall healthcare of people at that time, this field has developed new and better ways to care for those who are injured, sick, and dying. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Changes In Medicine Due To Civil War" essay for you Create order Are the changes that have happened involving medicine and the treatment of patients is one of the most dramatic changes in the history of our time? One thing that has changed over time is that whiskey and other forms of alcohol were used to treat wounds and disease though of questionable medical value, whiskey did relieve some pain (Civil War Medicine: An Overview of Medicine | Ehistory). Today, medical doctors would not consider whiskey, or any alcohol, the answer to treating a wound or disease. Back then, for wounds, whisky was considered to have a cleansing effect, like the antiseptic of today. Additionally, it was used not as a remedy for a disease, but as a painkiller for the symptoms of wounds and diseases. Now, medical doctors and scientists have discovered medicines that help people relieve the pain they are having. Also today, a person can go to the store and buy over-the-counter medicines for colds and fevers. These medicines help to relieve the pain from symptoms of headaches, surgeries, diseases, etc. During the Civil War, many people died due to diseases that the doctors could not treat because they did not have proper medicine to cure them. People were made comfortable through different techniques, however, cures for anything were few and far between. Today if someone goes to the doctor or hospital and is diagnosed with a disease, there is probably a form of medicine available to help them survive or at least live comfortably with the disease. Today, there are also new diseases for which they are still trying to find cures. Also, there are some diseases that are not yet curable like cancer. Some people argue that cancer existed back then but no one can be sure. Since having new, technological advantages now, scientists are working on a cures for things that in the days of the Civil War, were simply considered ailments that no one could survive. Through the ages, the way technology changed in medicine is that back during the Civil War, they did not have what we consider technology today. More modern equipment that is capable of diagnosing a patients symptoms, blood tests that can look for abnormal levels of things in the blood, scans using radioactive energy all exist today. Doctors during this time use technology for everything; and back in the days of the Civil War, a doctor could only hope that the way a patient was treated would help assist them in getting better. These days, a person can be put on a ventilator to help them breathe if they are in a coma or unable to breathe themselves. Also today, a persons heart beats per minute can be checked using monitors, cuffs, and other devices. In the days of the Civil War, a doctor or medic would simply time a persons breathing or feel for a pulse in the neck or wrist. Many times, soldiers who may have had a weak heartbeat due to injuries was left to die because a pulse could not be felt efficiently. More advanced equipment would not be invented for some time. Nowadays, if a bone is broken or suspected to be broken, doctors can order an x-ray to see for certain if it is. An x-ray allows doctors to see the bones in a persons body through radiologic technology. If this scan does not give a good enough result, the doctors of today can order whats called a Computed Tomography or CT scan or even a Magnetic Resonance Image or MRI to get a more in-depth picture. During the time of the Civil War, they did not have the technology to be able to see inside a persons body, so they relied on amputations of body parts for most of the battle field injuries. Also, doctors had much less experience than they do now. Doctors during the Civil War had to go to college for only about two years to become doctors. After the two years of college, they were able to perform surgeries by themselves. Also, the doctors lacked the ability to get most soldiers off the battle ground, and the hospitals lacked the sterile surroundings that they have now (Reilly). They often used knives as scalpels to cut people open. The knives they used were more than likely also used on other soldiers with injuries. Handwashing was something that, if a doctor was working in a hospital-like environment, could be done, but was not thought of as drastically important as it is now. When a doctor or a medic was working on a wounded soldier, they went from one person to another person without ceasing, causing infections to their patients. Todays doctors, before even having the chance to see a patient, have to go to four years of undergraduate school, have to take four more years of medical school, and then finally they have about se ven years of interning to do in a hospital. Also, today they have to be really sterile to practice medicine. The doctors have to wash their hands before and after touching a patient because, over time, germs that live on a person and even in our environment have been discovered to cause havoc to a person that is sick, injured, or diseased. If a doctor is a surgical physician, they have to use a scalpel only once during surgery. During the Civil War, general anesthesia was a new concept in medicine, so barely anyone had known how to use it. Instead of putting patients to sleep, the doctors would give them a dirty towel to let the patient bite down on during surgery. Also, they would have to hold down the patient because of how bad it hurt them to have surgery done with them awake. Today, of course, that is not the case. Modern medicine allows a person to sleep through any type of surgical procedure. From the extraction of a tooth to a major operation, a patient is put to sleep using intravenous anesthesia. In some cases today, people may wake up during surgery or may their body may not respond well to the anesthesia. For this reason, there is a person there called an anesthesiologist that is specifically giving people the correct amount of anesthesia and monitoring that persons vital signs for any type of negative effect. If anything goes wrong within a patients body during surgery these days, the specially trained people who assist in surgeries relay that information to the surgeon so that added steps can be taken to keep the patient asleep and responding well. With the examples given, it is easy to see that there have been many advances in the medical field since the days of the Civil War. From medicines, tools of the doctors, technological equipment, and even schooling for doctors, the advances that have been made are some of the most important for treating people with almost any type of injury or condition. On or off the battlefield, where many soldiers died of germ contamination, internal injuries, or simply thought to be dead, doctors are now able to understand the importance of sterile environments, the use of internal imaging, and monitoring for vital signs. People are now living longer, healthier lives, even in the face of war; and all this is due to the advances that have been made in the medical field. This is the reason that this writer believes, and everyone should believe, that the changes that have happened involving medicine and the treatment of patients is one of the most dramatic changes in the history of our time.
